On Tuesday, March 3, the varsity boys baseball team shut out the San Rafael Bulldogs in a quiet 4-0 victory. The Giants took advantage of their first opportunity to score with juniors Maxim Wells and Chase Johnson each driving in a run on singles that found a gap. Sophomore starting pitcher Landen Brunk commanded the zone, recording five scoreless innings with just three hits allowed. On the offensive side, Brunk delivered for the Giants, picking up a bases-clearing double that screamed off the bat, making its way to the left field wall, scoring two runs. Senior Jake Post came into the game in relief of Brunk, and continued to silence the Bulldogs’ bats through the remainder of the game. The Giants notched eight hits offensively, and currently sit in a four-way tie for first place in the Marin County Athletic League standings. Their next game falls on Friday, March 6, as the team will face the Bulldogs again, at San Rafael High School at 3:30 p.m.
